Hi, My name is Rachel. I began my backyard garden journey in 2021. My husband and I were considering ways to be more self-sufficient and eat healthier. We turned half of our small suburban backyard into a garden. We utilize the back-to-eden, permaculture method along with some raised beds; though I think calling it an – annual food forest – sums it up nicely. With a lot of hard and wonderful work and learning through success and failure, I now have roughly 20 different varieties of food growing in my little backyard. This growing season we are on track for harvesting several hundred pounds of foods and I am loving every minute of it. Each year we learn more, grow more and preserve more. I love sharing my garden with others. It is a great source of joy to me and I am excited to share my lessons learned with you so that you too can find joy in backyard gardening.
